The Crows' Gathering
Artist book by J Vanderbosch
The Crows' Gathering is about the relationship of a gardner and a murder of crows. The watercolor illustrations speak to the imaginary conversation between the gardener and the birds. There is a surprise in the middle of the book that lets the reader fly with the crows. The book is case bound and hand sewn with thin paper separating the illustrated pages. The inside cover papers are made with 100% cotton linters, fibers from the plants in the artist's garden, and buds of lavender plants. The artist uses her own handwriting to present the original poem. The silver line running throughout the book represents the silver thread that connects us all and completes the friendship between the crows and the gardener. Cover: linen and rayon fabric Inside cover: Yellow paper hand made by the artist, 100% cotton linter and daffodil leaf fibers.
